The exhibition: East - West - Infinity / Poland - Japan 2019 by Aleksander Janicki is another from the series of multi-threaded exhibitions. This year, the main context of the exhibition is the 100th anniversary of establishing international relations between Poland and Japan.

The exhibition consists of works by Aleksander Janicki and includes sculptures, multimedia installations, paintings, graphics and photography as well as innovative interactive works in the field of new media, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies.

The multidisciplinary exhibition is to be accompanied by the presentation of exhibition projects related to the most outstanding manifestations of Poland's cultural heritage, such as: the Wawel Royal Castle in Kraków, the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum in Toruń, the National Museum in Kraków, and above all - the award-winning design of the Polish pavilion at Expo 2005 in Japan.

The aim of the exhibition is to familiarize Japanese citizens with the most important creators of the Polish culture, e.g. Mikołaj Kopernik, Fryderyk Chopin, Bronisław Piłusudski, and Maria Curie-Skłodowska.

The work of Aleksander Janicki has been dialoguing with the Japanese culture for many years. Numerous projects in Poland and Japan and the reception of his art in the Land of the Cherry Blossom is the best proof of this. It is also a great example of many years of fruitful artistic cooperation between the Polish artist and the environment of Japanese artists - a visible sign of dialogue between the cultures of both nations.
